Movida sells itself as the 'best' and 'classiest' club in Johannesburg. However, should you (as a male) need to go to the bathroom 'too frequently', you may be subjected to a 'spot check' which involves a bouncer looking over the stall (while you are trying to do your business) to check that you aren't doing drugs. While I approve of the fight against drugs in nightclubs, I don't believe that invasion of privacy (a constitutional right) is acceptable. I am disgusted and offended by what has just happened to me and even more offended by management's nonchalant attitude to my complaint. If you appreciate your privacy, think twice before venturing to the bathroom at Movida.
