Multichoice
Multichoice/DSTV has a poor attitude to the deaf

DSTV has no consideration for its deaf viewers. Its says its viewers should phone their call centre whenever they have a problem, totally ignoring the fact that a call centre is of no use to a deaf person.

They do have an e-mail address, but you are very lucky if you get a response to your e-mail.

I forgot to pay my subscription, and so got cut off. Fair enough, but I paid on the 25th and am still cut off on the 30th despite several e-mails and a number of attempts to rectify the problem via their website or SMS.

Their accounting system is inadequate. If you look at your Account Balance you get what looks like an up to date figure. If you look at your Transactions it does not show your latest transactions, and if you look at your statements you do not get an up to date statement.

There is also a system whereby you can reconnect by SMS. You are told that you can reconnect by sending an SMS to a particular number showing the error code and your card number, but it does not tell if you should use the short error code e.g. E16 or the full error code e.g. E16-4 or if you should run the error code and the card number together or use a separator.
