Went to watch a movie (Disconnect) at Brooklyn Cinema Nouveau. In the theatre (number 5) we were greeted by a large noisy electric fan buzzing away in the middle of the isle and still remarked that we hope it won't be there for the whole movie.
It was. And the airconditioning was broken. The theatre only got hotter as the movie went on. Not acceptable to keep operating this theatre without aircon and charge the public for it. Adding a noisy fan makes it even worse. After the movie I immediately entered this complaint at the little compliment/complaint computer station, but I'm yet to even receive an acknowledgment of receipt of my complaint.
Not only was the aircon broken, but also something in the projection system. There was some serious ghosting and flaring of the images. (Anything white made a large vertical flare on the screen double the size of the object.) This is, unfortunately, in line with the technical standards I've experienced a this cinema complex. Audio is frequently distorted and definitely not calibrated properly. Picture sometimes not entirely in sync and even out of focus. I'm always the first to leave the movie to complain about that. It's sometimes corrected.
