I made my payment on 28 June as requested on the statement. My account was stopped on 1 July. After phoning the call centre the account was activated but there was a connection fee charged of R50. I told the call centre that I made my payment on requested date and that it was not communicated to me that I need to take into account the time lack between banks. And if it was not for the weekend my payment would have been on time. I told her that I have my proof of payment that I can forward it to her to show that I made my payment on time. She told me that I still need to pay the R50. I told her that I am not going to pay the R50 as it is not my fault. She said then my account will be disconnected again. I think this is ridiculous. If it was communicated to me that I need to take into account the lacking time I would have made my payment earlier.
