I just walked out of the 2D version of Life of Pi showing at Cinema 6 at Nu Metro's Monte Casino branch after only 2 minutes. The image was jumping visibly, making it hard to focus, while bits of dust and scratches on film came flying past to distract from the image further! This was visible throughout the previews but we expected the image quality to correct once the movie started. It was immediately evident that it would not. The manager we spoke to was polite and immediately agreed on a refund without even going in to the cinema to look at the problem, which leads me to believe that they are aware of this quality issue. I am insulted that anyone would be expected to sit through two hours of this! As a movie lover this is the first time in a year I've chosen to watch in 2D, seems like no budget is allocated to repairing and maintaining this "dying" format. If this is the case Nu Metro should please remove it as an option, but don't expect clients to site through this!
