Recently i vacated the rental property i had been staying in for 12months. During this period i made numerous improvements to the property totalling well over R4, 000.00.
Upon moving out i was informed that i had damaged the sliding door and the owner needed to replace it. This sliding door was scratched and had been scratched since the day i moved in. Not during one of the quarterly inspections did the agent moan about this.
Yesterday I had my rental deposit paid into my account. Only to have Bukeka phone me and tell me i must return a portion of it as she had paid the whole amount over in error. Surely she should be held responsible for her error and not the tenant as she did not take the time to ensure that she was allowed to pay over the deposit. I feel that she should be held responsible for the amount which she paid over in error and that Just Lettign should recover this from her and not have people phone and tell me to pay the money back.
