Upon move-in the unit was permeated with cockroaches - the response was that it is absolutely NOT MacProp's responsibility to ensure a unit is free of cockroaches upon move in of new tenant.
There are several active hornet nests around the upstairs bedroom windows - two people have been attacked by the hornets - the response was 'What is wrong with your husband's hands? Can't he eradicate the hornets himself? ' An agressive and personal attack, bordering on slander of my husband's physical capabilities.
A ceiling in the garage caved in - response from Macprop took 3 weeks. The debris is still not cleaned up and there is still a ladder standing in our garage, almost 3 months later. Response from Macprop was that they 'did not know' about the debris and ladder; even after numerous calls and emails.
The motorized gate infront of the Forest Hill complex's electrical wiring is OFF - posing a serious safety hazard, demonstrated by several break-ins. Response, 'I don't work with that, you should speak with someone else' - Daan (Maintenance)
I have made several telephonic calls, as well as sending numerous emails, to no avail. I have never for one moment been aggresive nor slanderous; however, that was the attitude each of my calls have been received with. I have had no email response, whatsoever, as of Jan 2015
For Macprop Rentals to take responsibility for the general maintenance of the properties - which include, but is not limited to, cockroach removing before new tenants move in; operational electric fencing; getting rid of hornets and their nests as it pose a health hazard.
Macprop, as the body corporate, and owners of this complex, should use the levy money collected on a monthly basis to ensure the living conditions are healthy and secure. Nothing more, nothing less.
To stop blame shifting and take responsibility for managing the complex.
