Property Den and I closed a rental contract in 2011, on the premises that I will not have an increase the following year. This was promised to me by their office manager. The following year, my rent went up with 10%, her excuse was, this is what the owner wants, she cant really do anything, but she agrees it is unethical.
This year, we had a severe altercation over a plumbing issue, that they refused to assist me with. Their office personel not only insulted me but also shouted at me and to date, the owner has still not bothered to return my numerous phone calls to resolve the situation.
In the meantime, there has been yet another plumbing issue, which they claim is for my account. After not receiving and evidently not paying it, I recently received a threat that I will now be handed over to the ITC, for an amount of R530 and two months of not even being aware of it. They are doing all of this on behalf of and for the plumbing company. It all sounds very dodgy to me. Surely they are not allowed to? They have a severe unprofessional and aggressive approach and altogether very arrogant way of dealing with customers and are extremely unpleasent to deal with
