Things deducted off my deposit

I was renting a unit through Remax one Hundred Fourways. After the keys were handed in and everything was inspected and told to me that all was good, five days later i received an email stating that the carpets had to be cleaned and that they will be detected off my deposit. This is unacceptable and unprofessional. I WILL NOT RECOMMEND the usage of Remax one hundred to no one.
