I pay my levies like a good owner should. But lately I think I'm going to stop paying. The reason for this is that Akademia flats in Hatfield are so far down the drain due to bad management.
Cars get broken into, more than 5 units in 2 months have been broken into. The intercom system has been broken for more than 6 months. The caretaker doesn't even stay on the premises to sort out issues. (That's why a building has a caretaker).
I have sent countless emails to Maurice Stone regarding these issues, and every time the only reply he can give me is "I will forward it to the trustees" and obviously nothing is being done about these issues. (For more than a year)
I own a number of flats in Pretoria, specifically Hatfield, the management and security of those buildings are awesome. (they are not managed by Midcity). Why is it so difficult to get the issues sorted out in Akademia? I mean it's not rocket science.
Over R100 000 PER MONTH that Midcity receives just from levies, why is it not being used to manage the building?
