I cancelled the lease a month earlier than planned due to unforseen circumstances. The agents from whom I leased have taken almost a month to return my deposit minus an agreed cancellation fee (even though they advertise free on Gum tree and found another tenant) and there is still a hint of indication that they're not going to at all. In addition to that, when I first took occupation of the flat, it was swarming with roaches and a cupboard was broken - I notified the principles and amid promises to resolve the issues, nothing was done. They are quick to take money from - as the principle Judy said she preferred - professional white people - but are slow to return it, and that's if they return at all as they have been postponing and ignoring requests for the refund. I recommend steering clear of any business interaction with these type of people - their ethics and profiling are extremely distastful. You will fall in to a trap of giving them your money, and never seeing it again. I have been waiting 4 days now for the return of the money that is legally mine while they find excuses to delay the payment. Disgusting. They are also not registered with the EAAB.
