When a person signs a contract to rent property, you would expect the agency to honour their contract. Is it my resposibility as the person renting the property to retrieve the deposit from the owner? Seeff has now finally passed the buck over to me to contact the owner of the property that I rented in Gordon's bay. I was promised in March that the deposit would be paid into my account. Only to eventualy be told that they paid the money into the owner's account by mistake. Now after numerous emails and complaints, they have given me the owner's email address and contact number and a basic "good luck" in getting your money back. Why should I, after a mistake from the agency, now need to contact lawyers on my expense to retrieve my deposit. I held up my end of the contract. Very disappointed and will definitely take this up with the rental tribunal.
