I have been a resident at Kempton Place building that belongs to City Property since 1 Jun 2012 to 30 May 2012.
1. I handed in my lease cancellation notice on the 6th of May 2012 (which was exactly 20 days notice) - but I couldn't hand in my banking details same day for payment as I couldn't go to the bank. I sent it on the 13th and then a few days later I got a call to say my move-out date 30th of may had to be changed to the 7th because both forms had to be handed in on the same date. I was desperate to move out because I had already paid my first instalment on my new house so I couldn't afford to pay double.
The problem is that I went to the building on the 4th of June - (My aces tag has been deactivated - which means I am not allowed in the building) Why do I have to pay rent from 1-7th June if I was not even allowed in the building? that's a clear rip-off.
2. Inspection.
I was then told that I have to pay something like R230.00 for every stain on the carpet found, any mark on the wall (fingerprints) I have to pay about R130.00 for that. I also have to pay about R150.00 for the stove if it has any stains. how is it possible to live the place as good as new?
