I have been trying to apply for an ID for over two years now. I went to the Pretoria home affairs and I was told that I can not get citizenship because my dad has passed away, because they need him to sign for the application. I have all the required documentation for getting citizenship, and I am legally entitled to South African identity. My father is south African by birth but has passed away, and my mother lives out of the country and she is not South African, my parents were married for more than 15 years under south Africa laws. I do not know what to do now because they say they do not have an act that addresses a circumstance whereby a parent is deceased. I am stressed, I can not do anything without an ID, I have just completed university but I cannot apply for a Job.
