Ombudsman for Short Term Insurance
Insurance

Good day,

I am seeking advice.

I bought a car (Dodge caliber 2009) and now in December 2012 it was discovered that it needed its gearbox to be repaired. The invoice from Dodge was R53, 767.80. Hollard Motor extender as my warranty extender insurance, agreed to pay R19, 500 and I had to pay the balance of R34, 267.80 which I did. Now the issue is Hollards needs to get a registered mail from Dodge in order for them to pay the balance and for me to get my car back, the problem is the Gauteng post office workers are on strike and Hollard cannot get the letter, and now they are refusing to pay. I pay the car every month that I am not using and secondly I am paying Hollards premium and I have to use public transport and this is the 2nd month already.

What can I do?
