I would like to understand firstly why there has been no communication to the public regarding the limited service being offered this week.
While I understand the reason for the limited service i.e. train every 30 minutes instead of every 10 minutes I fail to comprehend why there are now 4 car trains being used during peak period. So we are now being impacted twice. Actually, 3 times because this was not communicated beforehand.
I arrived at Midrand Station at 7:18 this morning, in time to board the 7:21 train. I could not get through the turnstiles, nevermind onto the train as the station was so full, I then waited for the 7:51 train and tried to board that one. Also, too full and the boarding passengers that arrived after me pushed past me to board and already full train. I am a paraplegic user of Gautrain and sadly, there is no consideration for anybody by 90% of the "able-bodied" users. I had to go to the Customer Service Manager at Midrand Station and demand that he accompany me to the platform and ensure that I was allowed to board the train. As a result of this I was 1 hour late for work. That is not acceptable. I would like to hear what is going to be done about this.
