City Of Cape Town Municipality
This city works for who?

We had an extremely bad experience at the Newlands swimming baths on Tuesday 10 December 2013. My sister, brother, 2 children and 2 friends went to the baths and entered after paying. My sister was later told she would not be able to swim without a bathing costume. She then asked for a refund as she wanted to leave. She was then told by the manager, Rashied Davids, to leave and was subsequently thrown out by security. The others left as well, as my sister is the eldest and looked after them. When my mom, other sister and I arrived afterwards and wanted to pay and enter, the rest of the group was denied access. I then went to speak to Rashied Davids after he did not want to come and speak to us. He was extremely rude, reluctant to identify himself or other staff members (Lillian Booysen & Miss Benjamin) that was rude to us and swore at my mom. Rashied grabbed a pen out of my hand and stormed back to his office without resolving the issue. I now officially lay a complaint against these employees. Our money needs to be refunded. Secondly, why must a Muslim be forced to wear a bathing costume, is the swimming baths not for everyone. Does the City discriminate against Muslims?
