City Of Johannesburg Municipality
Call centre a joke

Since Friday evening I have been without hot water at my home in Linden Johannesburg. After talking to my insurance company, it was established that one of the phases on the electricity pole was faulty and required City Power to come and repair the problem. I have attempted to notify City Power of the problem on the number given on the COJ website 0860562874. (0860joburg). To date, I have spent in excess of 4 hours holding for a City Power agent to take my call. All I get is an automated voice telling me that they are experiencing high call volumes. At the time of writing this, I have still not managed to report the problem to City Power. The COJ call centre is a disaster and a complete and utter joke. It is totally unacceptable that the City is so inefficient that problems can not even be reported, let alone fixed. A World Class African City? My foot!
