I have been receiving these stinking notes from the municipality claiming that I owe for services. I pay every month and somehow I end up owing. On the 8th I received yet another FINAL DEMAND notice which theatened to shut my services if I do not respond in 7 Days. They shut my water off on the 14th and have been depending on my tank which ran empty early today. The latest note had areas of R1300... and a due amount of almost the same amount. I went to their offices today and their explanation is that the area amount is for last month and the amount due is for the end of this month which is August. If you provide services in July and bill at the end of July, that surely cant be an area amount. It further beats me how in one can bill me for August and send a bill on the 8th of August and calim that the amount is due. I waited hoping that they would wake up and rectify this mistake by themselves. I had no option but to pay R2600 for July and August today hoping that some intelligence may befall RLM offices.
