I used efiling to file my tax returns. The day after I filed my returns I got a notification to say i was being audited and I needed to submit my supporting documents - thats fine, I dont have a problem doing that. I submitted my logbook, my IRP5s, and all the receipts that made up the R89 000 I spent cash on medical expenses on e-filing. I kept checking sars efiling everyday to see what was happening - nothing! I phoned the call centre now and to my surprise, they are not happy with these documents - they want it on a "schedule". So you want to tell me that they are auditors but cant add up all the amounts on the receipts to get to the total figure on my return. Pathetic! Whats worse - I wasnt even informed that they wanted this schedule. When were they going to tell me. According to my calculation, I am owed R38k by SARS, sounds like delay tactics to me...
