On Friday 10/05/2013 at approx 19h30 i had the misforune of being involved in an armed house. To our delight, the Umbilo SAPS arrived within 5min of our call for assistance. and from thereon, it was just downhill. Two members came into our home, and had a bad attitude from the onset. Theyw ere conpletely disrespectful, had no care in the world whether we needed medical assistance. there were 3 of us involved in the incident, of which they only took one persons statement, and what a dismal statement at that. it probably took them 3/4 of an hour to write a pathetic three paragraph statement, whereby most of the info was left out. Everytime we relayed what transpired and how we were tied up and assaulted, they would speak in zulu to each other and have a good laugh at our expense, not realsing that we can actually understand most of what they are saying. Only when an elderly warrant officer from the same station arrived (I presume he was the charge office/relief commander, did he ridicule them on their behaviour. He was the only person from the SAPS that asked whether we were injured, or do we require counselling or medical treatment and whether he can call someone for us.
