Sunday Times
POOR Subscription procedure

I received a cold call from a sales consultant offering me a subsription to the Sunday Times as well as a daily times paper. The price quoted was really good (R69.63) and it was a daily delivery to my home. The procedure is then to get the "new" Customers details. I do not have my bank account account number on my person; as it is obviously different to to my cheque card number indicated on my ATM card;- with this in mind as well as my reluctanance to blurt out my banking details over the telephone to a stranger; I requested that they e-mail me an application form, which I could complete and return via email. I did this the same evening - suppling all my details except my employer details, which I thought had nothing to do with me getting a subscription (I am subscribed to TIME Magazine as well as the FORTUNE Magazine on this basis... without my employers consent...! I was then awoken twice at 12.30 am and again at 1am with missed calls... I suppose to verify the form that I had emailed back. They have consultant and please repeat the same account number. I told them the same, I don't carry it with me. Claerly they dont trust the new Customer nor the sales person. SHAME!
