I received an SMS notification that I was being billed for WASP services which I did not specifically request. I certainly never supplied them with my phone number, and never responded to any opt-in messages sent to my phone, so I can only assume that Cell-C supplied them with my information.
Because I have heard about these guys before from other sources (specifically that they go ahead an bill anyway, even if you ignore them) I decided to unsubscribe just to ensure that I have some evidence that they should not be billing me.
I have an SMS message from them stating that they were supposed to unsubscribe me from their services on 12/04/2013 (In the message it said that processing this would take 24 hours), however by 16/04/2013 they were still charging me a daily subscription fee.
I called again and a call-centre agent said that they would unsubscribe me again and send through notification to that effect. So now I have another notification from them that this will take 24 hours (More evidence).
Because they are already in breach of the WASPA code of conduct, I have provisionally lodged a complaint, since I don't have much confidence that they will desist from billing me.
