Sungardens Hospice is a NPO, caring for patients who have been diagnosed with a life threatening illness. We receive no funding from Government and therefore have to rely entirely on the community and our own fundraising events to raise the necessary funds to enable us to care for our patients and their families.
"The biggest book sale ever" was organised by one of our Board members. The venue being Brooklyn Mall. Problem was to get hundreds and hundreds of books donated to us by the community to the Mall.
I approached Biddulphs for their support and they agreed to assist us FREE OF CHARGE. Not only did the staff load and unload the books, they even did a second trip to ensure that all the books were available for sale.
Thanks to Biddulphs and our many volunteers we raised R102 000.00.
