I received an SMS at the beginning of last month from an undisclosed service asking if I was interested in their mobile services and if not, I simply should send them an SMS stating OPT OUT and they would refrain from sending me info. At the end of last month, I received an account R525.00 more then what I normally pay. I had exceeded my data a week before the end of the month and simply assumed it was that. This morning, I received a data coverage notification on my phone as where I was it was limited coverage. I did a balance inquiry just in case it was my data that was up. Then I discovered that I had R160.00 usage for the month even though I still had 7 hrs talk time, 1151 sms bundle and 140MB of data left.

So I called CELL C and they told me I was subscribed to SMARTCALL TECHNOLOGIES SOLUTIONS for MOBILE SERVICES. Now I know for a fact that I didnt subscribe. I only recall OPTING OUT of receiving SPAM SMS's.

This is how they obviously dupe consumers into buying into their service, by fooling them that they are opting out of the service.

Now I am a reasonable person and R700.00 may not seem like much, but I want my refund.
If not, Im going to CARTE BLANCH - I swear!!!
