I would like the SABC to get their act together. I have a TV license account which is up to date. In 2012 I paid my account using cellphone banking and I used my ID number as a reference number as I could not remember my account number. They handed my account to collections. I then called their call centre to enquire about my account. I was asked to email the proof of payment. I emailed them my bank statement and I circled the transaction in question. The call centre agent confirmed that it was received and that my account would be updated. In November and December 2013 some debt collectors have been sending my wife sms' regarding the outstanding fees for 2012.
Please update your details as I am a good citizen. Should the same thing continue I will stop paying the SABC just like I'm not going to pay the etoll.
