On 17 September, I sent a parcel to the US via EMS from Linden post office in Johannesburg. I paid for insurance. The parcel value was R3210 and the cost of shipping was R1433.30. When the recipient received the parcel it was destroyed... half open, crushed, ripped. The contents were not damaged. This is unacceptable service from the SA Post Office. Was the box torn open to check if the contents were worth due to the declared value on the EMS slip? I hestitate to use the Post Office for any future deliveries.
