My wife registered her married name. A week after that happened (and every week since) we get a letter stating we have won a competition. (I moved in two months ago and the address was also updated at home affairs - they are the only ones who know the name and address).
It's always sent by IMS (International Merchandise Services. One week I've won R400 000 the next I have a shipment worth R40 000, in my name, pending payment. ITS ALL .
Now its clear they got my information from Home Affairs literally a week after registering the new surname. And now I get letters every week. I think this is disgusting and how on earth are these still around buying info from government.
