I have been looking for a puppy to adopt and have been phoning all the SPCA's to find out if they have any. I stay in Edenvale and called the Edenvale SPCA who advised they didnt have any. I then called the Germiston/Bedfordview SPCA and they advised they had puppies. When I asked the gentleman for his physciall address he first asked me from which area i was. I then advised him i stayed in Edenvale. His response then was unfortunetly you are not allowed to adopt from us as you dont live in our area. I asked him what the reasoning for this was and advised that it was due to people adopting and then not bringing the puppy back for sterilization.
I told him that is totally unacceptable as i was willing to do so and he still advised me NO!!! I find this totally unacceptable due to the fact that you are always hearing about the SPCA and how no body is adopting animals etc and then when you want to they advise you NO!!! I am totally disgusted!! if no one adopts the puppy what then is it going to be put down???
It is no wonder people will rather go and buy a dog from a pet shop if this is that attitude of the SPCA!!!
