I have been looking for months for a cat, specifically a Maine Coon cross.
On the 26 June 2013 I came across an adult Maine Coon cross at the Germiston SPCA and immediately put in an enquiry regarding this cat, to which the SPCA Germiston employee responded that the cat would be marked as "booked" and that viewing would be on Saturday 29 June 2013. When we arrived on Saturday and enquired When something is booked, it is reserved. If someone else is interested please show some respect to the original enquirer and at least give them a call to ask if they are still interested or to confirm that they will, in fact, still be coming to adopt the cat. Especially considering that the SPCA employee took down my contact details when I made the original enquiry regarding the Maine Coon cross. The employee could at the very least exercised some common courtesy and let me know that the cat had already been adopted. Instead I had to spend an hour driving to Germiston and back only to discover the cat had been adopted.
Due to our terrible experience at the Germiston SPCA, we will be hard pressed to return to save an animal from the SPCA.
