We participated in the Zoo run yesterday; Sunday 8 Sept.
We were very shocked and astounded by the state of the zoo. The zoo was full of rubbish; unfortunately it appeared that the majority of the mess was as a result of too few rubbish bins, or that they were not cleaned frequently enough or that the visitors had no regard for the zoo and our environment in general and just left their litter everywhere; the picnic areas were disgusting.
Unfortunately this also filtered into the animal enclosures, where a lot of little could be found, thus potentially affecting the animals should the consume this.
I was happy however to see that the animals were in good condition and appeared to be well cared for.
Get the police involved and issue spot fines to these people or kick them out completely... get your policies sorted out!!!
