My Alessi kettle, which I had for just over two years, packed up - it was out of guarantee, but the second one that gave problems since 2009. I phoned The Coffee Company where I bought it, to find out whether they could arrange for repairs, but was told by the (new) owner of the shop that if it was the heating element which is an integral part of the kettle body, the kettle will not be fixable. He however requested me to bring the kettle in for assessment. I took my Alessi jug, also bought in 2009, along - it was showing signs of rust at the bottom although it is supposedly made of 18/10 stainless steel.
Mr Antoniades listened to my tale of woe with great empathy, and suggested that he would contact Alessi and report the two problems to them - he did, however, told me not to get my hopes up. That very same afternoon he phoned me to let me know that Alessi was going to replace both items, at no extra cost to me.
To say that I was delighted - and astonished - is to put it mildly.
Bravo to both The Coffee Company AND Alessi.
