Hi! I am currently experiencing the same problem with Dion Black. We got married in July and he still hasn't handed in our register. We are in December! I can't get a hold of him. Neither can my husband, or anyone I've asked to help us contact him. He is ignoring all the calls, messages and emails. How did you solve the issue?

We experienced similar issues with the marriage officer Dion Black (owner of Wedlock) in 2017. At the time of our marriage, he assured us that the registration would be done promptly. However, he did not register our marriage for many months. He repeatedly assured us that he would, but every time we checked, it had not been done. Eventually he stopped answering all calls and emails and it was almost impossible to find or contact him.
It was four months of constant worry. Had we been scammed? Had he lost our documents? All he had to do was register our marriage at Home Affairs. It is a very simple process for him--go to Wynberg DHA and hand in the documents. This is a requirement of his job.
After three months we finally heard back from him: he had registered our marriage. Turns out he was lying, and so when we checked, it was still not registered. We eventually had to threaten legal action. Even then, it took him another couple weeks to register our marriage.

Dion Black caused an enormous amount of stress in our lives and I strongly advise anyone seeking a marriage officer to avoid him.
