SABC DOESN'T WANT TO CANCEL ACCOUNT

We haven't had a television set for a few years, but still paid our TV license. I tried to cancel our TV license on 05/09/2012, only to get a rather unfriendly letter on 20/03/2013 (6 months later) from Lindie D Landela at customer services stating that according to the Broadcasting Act, No 4 of 1999 the TV license could not be cancelled and our account was not paid up. I replied by email stating and resending the proof of payment of the paid-up account.

I talked to a lady named Mimie at customer care beginning April, 2013. She could not really figure out what was going on in our account. I resent her all the detail and previous correspondences on 02/04/2013. I followed it up a few times by email since then, but I haven't received any response from anyone - only a new account for the annual renewal of the license! This is getting very frustrating! We are considering legal action.
