A Viewer of SABC TV stopped paying her annual subscription because the TV set was destroyed by lightning. SABC was informed of this by letter.
The viewer subsequently determined that viewers over the age of 75 are entitled to a reduced subscription. On enquiring why she had been held liable for the full amount for the time after she became 75 years of age SABC informed her that it was her duty to apply for the reduction. Do note that all viewers' age data is on record at the SABC through her ID number. Due to this allowance for older persons the viewer CLAIMED a credit of a few hundred rands on her account.
A friend that emmigrated to Australia gave her another TV set. The viewer then immediately obtained a new TV licence and for a few years paid the subscription. Then she remembered the credit and claimed that to be brought into account of her new TV licence. This seems to have been disallowed and she was bullied into paying for the years that she did not even possess a TV set.
SABC TV absolutely declined to submit a full statement to enable her to query if the amount claimed was correct or not.
She feels that the HUGE SABC actually bullyed her into paying an unseen invoice.
