My Grandma passed away on the 23rd May '13 (Thursday), we were advised us to come to Martin's PTA north on Monday as they'll be busy for the weekend. My Grandma was Martin's client since 2000 to date as she was paying in Soweto, and she was proud of being their client. Kelly (PTA north clerk) gave me a call on the 27 May '13 telling me that they will offer a R4000.00 burial service viz. pauper's coffin, hearse, family car, and 5 vegetables, NO buses, tent, chairs, tables and all the things they promised to cover. They don't even have that cheap coffin in their branch and they have to order it. They claim that my Granny was an extended family member, contributing R10.00 for herself and R130 for other family members she registered in her policy. She was paying R140.00 every month for a paupers' burial? We also have to pay storage and removal fee of R650.00 as I decide to use the township undertaker. PTA north said they don't have a Super Policy, their policies differs as they are franchises. What kind of franchise is this, everyone does things in their way and they claim to have 164 branches country wide? Roodepoort branch said they refund us the storage fee and removal, they made a
