The fee for servicing of my grandfather clock was a lot more than I expected but I paid without comment assuming a professional job. However the clock was returned with a fault that caused the chimes to increase by one hour after several days. It was returned with the simple instruction to fix the fault. It has been back three more times over a period of four months demonstrating that Mr. Webber has no idea how to fix it. He also needs repeated reminders to collect the clock.
His brother repairs clocks but for half the price and this clock will now go to him. I would advise those with old clocks requiring repair in the Durban area to avoid Hillcrest Watch and Clock because of the poor workmanship and substandard service.
