A debit order in the amount of R399 bounced on an account that I do not even use. I did not sign anything to authorise that debit order and would like to know why that account was debited in the first place. I have had to pay for the bank charges incurred when I did not even authorise this. Is this legal? Now I have received a letter from Esterhuyze Attorneys telling me to pay their client R399 and an administration fee of R150.48, the total amount being 549.48 in the next 10 days and I am being threatened with legal action. All this is because I apparently used their client (Loan Locator)'s services and agreed to pay them R399. Why are we being like this? I want to know if this is legal and why should I pay for this when I'm not interested?
