I bid on a couch for R1205 from riafurn (a Bob seller) yesterday and someone else bid R1205 several hours after me. They were awarded the highest bid. I emailed Bid or Buy this morning and the lady who assisted via email said that the winning bidder was prepared to offer R1800. However their higher bid was never incremented and as the winning bid was R1205 : I am legally entitled to buy the couch at that amount. However at this point their online correspondent stopped responding to my email and ignored me. As far as I know, at an auction, the highest bid accepted wins the deal and as Bid or Buy accepted my bid which was the highest, they should not be able to award the item bid upon to someone else who bid the same price after me. Apart from this, as they did not increment the other bidder's higher bid, they cheated the seller of the item out of money.
