Netcare
Waiting 7 hours for stitches

On the evening of Sunday 7 April, my mother was taken to Netcare Union hospital for cuts to her wrists. She was booked in at 20:00. After various attempts to get someone to assist with her stitches, she only got helped after 02:00 the next morning. I was informed this happened because of 3 emergencies comming in. Why was there not a second doctor on call that could assist during busy times.
One of the cuts on her arm was not even stitched up, and was blamed by the charge sister that she had taken it out herself.
Yesterday afternoon, 9 April, she was taken back to the hospital, because she was severely aneamic, and she have gotten a blood transfusion. She arrived at 13:00, and only saw a doctor at 19:00. Again not extra doctors on call to assist. After the doctor shouted at my mother and the person who took her there for being stupid in interpretting the results, my mother flipped and told the doctor she was leaving because the service was unacceptable. His response to this was "Thank you for leaving".
I work in the medical industry, and have never come across such horrible service.
People from my company get fired for this type of customer service...
