Declining of Permission for Essential Health Care

On 13 March my mother was admitted to Eugene Marais hospital with a bleeding ulcer. On 14 March an emergency operation was performed on her for the condition. She was discharged from hospital on 23 March. My mother is 85 years old

Due to another operation that went wrong, my mother can only walk with a walker, but is fully mobile if she has her walker. During her stay in Eugene Marais, neither her doctors or the physio went to any trouble to see that she was mobile before she was discharged. She was discharged with "drop foot" which means, nobody bothered to even exercise her feet during the stay in hospital. As she was discharged on a Saturday I had to waitt until Monday to try and do something about the fact that she was not mobile. I contacted the dr in question and asked for a motivation for the Medical aid to pay for a Step Down facility in order for a physio to assist my mom in getting mobile again.

After 3 motivations our request has been declined due to a Technicality between the definition of Step Down and Frail Care. We are now paying for this ourselves, why are they paying Discovery!!!
