My daugher's nose was bleeding profusely. I took her to Umhlanga Hospital where they asked me to pay R800 immediately before the doctor can see her. I paid this sum. the doctor came surprising AFTER the payment was made and looked at my daughter which by this time her nose stopped bleeding. He then said she needs a DRIP and asked a nurse to do it. the nurse stabbed her hand with a sharp needle and pushed in the drip which didnot work. At this stage my child was in tears, the nurse then asked another nurse to poke my child's hand again - I refused this to happen but she insisted and poked her hand and shoved in the drip BUT it did not work and my child's hand started to swell up badly - then another nurse came and she is a Sister and I asked her to stop as my child was traumatised - she refused and said poked my child again. My child was in a lot of pain and she was crying - her hand was bleeding and the drip did not work again. The doctor charged me R500.00 to look at the my child and the hospital now wants me to pay an additional R107.34 or they WILL LIST ME ON THE CREDIT BUREAU.
