After have trouble with the skin of my hands I made an appointment to see dermatologist Dr Pitamber at the Netcare Sunninghill Hospital. He believed I had warts and biopsied areas he was unsure of.
After the biopsy I was told that in about 7 days he would call with the results. Pitamber did not and I spent a few days calling his office. Eventually his secretary told me he had now gone on leave...!
At this point I contacted Netcare support hotline and was transferred to person after person... The appropriate contact was apparently also on leave...! Eventually the line just disconnected.
I called back Pitambers rooms - 10 days later... After his holiday. Again, day after day, i never got a phone call.
At this point my skin was getting worse and what he had diagnosed as warts was not warts but i had been applying Duofilm - which he suggested. Duofilm is an acid paste used to burn off warts. Because of his hasty misdiagnosis my palm was covered with blisters.
Eventually his secretary faxed the pathology report to me. Literally the pathologists report - no interpretation in laymans terms and NO SCRIPT FOR TREATMENT!!
