I had to go to the hospital after been referred from Kempton Park clinic due to a compressed nerve. When I arrived at the hospital I had to go and get my file from admissions. I arrived there at 12:55pm, put my card in the yellow box as per procedure; and was only told two hours later that they cant find my file only because one of the patients asked one of the ladies that she knew to look for her file (as she had been waiting there since 7:30am). I had to go to the antenatal to go and check if my file wasn't there since that was the last place I've been to a year ago. Upon not finding my file I had to wait for another hour and was told to open another file after three as they could not find it along with other patients. And yet again it was the lady that was helping us out and not the clerks who's job it was to look for the files. Please address this issue as this is not the first time I had to wait hours just for a file. The hospital staff are great give or take one or two nurses who thinks that they own the wards. After that debacle we (the patients who had to wait hours for our files) received great service from the nurses in OPD & casualty and the doctor who helped us.
