I went for supper last evening in the 4*Protea hotel where I was staying. I regret to say that it was restaurant was a poor experience as a whole.
Firstly, the table where chose to sit (which was close to a plug) had a very dirty tablecloth. I showed this to the waiter who subsequently did nothing. I used a napkin as a place mat because it was quite gross and clearly hasn't been washed in a while.
I ordered a Rib-eye steak (because my previous experience with the buffet was very bad). I ordered it medium rare. I should have known this wouldn't end well as the waiter looked at me with a shocked face as if no one has ever ordered any meat that was not well done (explains the dry condition of the buffet I guess). The steak he brought me was rare at best on the thin bits and blue (barely sealed) on the thick parts. I like a rare steak but raw meat isn't really my thing. On top of that it was just a steak and a potato. No veggies. I then asked for veggies and I got sweet potato and corn, 2 more starches. Not even a carrot!
To top it off I ordered ice-cream and it took 30 minutes to bring, the chocolate sauce was watered down and tasted nothing like Nutella.
At least the wine was good
