I went to the Netcare Linksfield as my GP was not available.
Consultation time - approx 10-15 min
I then received notification via email of my bill R418.60 which I proceeded to pay.
Date 10 December 2013
I received another bill from Netcare Linksfield, amount R534.22.This I found very odd as I had already paid for the consultation. I phoned Linksfield only to find out that this was for the rental of the room, as the doctor on call was not a resident doctor at the linksfield.
I am outraged,
1. Before I went into see the doctor why was I not informed that I would have to pay an addtional charge of "rental" over and above the doctors consultation
2. How is this possible, that a patient must pay 2 seperate bills, one for the doctors consultation and the second bill for rental. Surely the doctor pays the Linksfield Netcare a rental in order to work and see patients using Netcare Linksfield rooms.
3. 10-15 min consultation with a GP cost close to R952
Please respond, Linksfield Netcare had no sign nor did they inform me of the way that they bill for adhoc consultations. This is deceiving the public & there is no choice until 3 months later until you get the bill
