We couldn't get an appointment with our usual Dr at Healthworx on Saturday, 7th Dec 2013 and as such I booked with Dr Adel van Zyl. The appointment was at 1pm which carries a surcharge of R190 as it is after hours. The receptionist duly explained this to me. As the appointment was only later my husband agreed to take my daughter. During the consult, as he was there and needed to go anyway to Dischem to fill my daughters script, he asked if she could give him a script for Adco Sporadazale. Instead of being transparent to my husband and making him aware that in addition to charging us for another consult (which is the norm so have no problem with that) he would also endure and additional R190 as well (even though he didn't even have a separate consultation or run over the time allocated for my daughter). This morning we get an sms to say that we need to come in and pay this fee. Our argument is that surely if she had any ethics, she would have made it clear at the time that it didn't really make financial sense to get the script at that consultation and given my husband the option to decide. Blatant example of someone who is just money hungry. It just makes sense to be transparent
