FAILURE TO ANSWER PHONE AT HOSP AUTHORIZATION NR

Dear Sir,

I am a Government Employee Medical Aid (GEMS) member in South Africa. My child must go in for dental surgery, the scheduled date for the surgery was for today 31 Jan. For the past two weeks I have been calling GEMS customer service to obtain the authorization number. I submitted the X-rays and doctors motivation letter on two occasions.

NOBODY answers at their dental authorization section. I spoke to a person named Patricia who said she would connect me to them, the phone just rang and rang. I send them mails to their complaints e-mail address as well as their authorization e-mail address - they did not respond.

TOday I phoned again and was promised to be put through to a person who would help me. THe phone rang for 1 hour 30 minutes while I was holding on and nobody answered.

My child's surgery has to be rescheduled now and I have been trying all I could to reach GEMS.
