This space is too small to capture the terrible state of the medical surgery ward at Morningside, but here's a brief list: My partner had to in pain without painkillers after he was FINALLY admitted despite being an emergency case, because they could not get hold of the surgeon for a prescription (this reminded me of when I spent a night there 3 years ago with my appendix likely to burst waiting for the sonar machine to be repaired the next day). My partner also later lay in his own blood, ringing the bell with no response, and had to walk to the desk, bleeding, for help and then still had to stand 15 minutes while they changed his sheets. The things like lack of vegetarian food on the day and the complete lack of communication with patients, pale in comparison to the deliberate lack of care shown by the nurses and their intimidation (after an honest comment on their service questionnaire) due to the vulnerability of the patient and the power that the nurse has over his current situation - let alone the rates that are charged for this "private care". It is disgusting! We have booked his follow up operation at a Life clinic. We will never use a Medi-clinic again.
