After saving VERY hard, we decided to go to this beautiful lodge to celebrate our engagement. Unfortunately, our experience wasn't great. We were given filthy placemats for two days - crusted with old food! We had one meal where a dirty fork was provided - also with old food! Our meal on Fri pm took two hours to be served - the food was cold. We were also seated against a wall looking at a fire extinguisher and the tablecloth had a huge whole in it. The paintwork in the lodge is shocking and the fabric on the couches is stained and weathered and needs redoing. We booked a massage as a celebratory treat for our engagement - no one ever arrived to do them (even after they had been confirmed with the manageress!) The desserts were shockingly bad at every meal we had. It took just over a week for us to receive any kind of feedback to our complaint and then we were just told they would deal with things and change the decor in 2014, quite an unsatisfactory response! Subsequent emails have received no response.
